What is Circular RNA?
-
Circular RNAs are covalently closed single-stranded RNA, naturally produced via back-splicing of pre-mRNA exon(s) in eukaryotic cells
-
Broadly expressed in metazoans, but generally at low levels with cell/tissue-specific patterns
-
Inherent stability with resistance to known exonucleases
-
Can be engineered and produced in vitro via in vitro transcription and circularization
Why Circular RNA?
01.
Improved Stability
02.
Tunable Expression
03.
Convenient Manufacturing
04.
Low immunogenicity
